Emma had worked full time as an artist since 1984 and her paintings have been reproduced internationally as greeting cards, posters, etchings and fabric designs. She is attracted to vivid colours and the decorative qualities in everyday objects, and will often rearrange her ‘ingredients’ to achieve a stronger impact. Her pictures are therefore more atmospheric than literal, combining elements of journeys, patterns from familiar settings and collected objects to create an image that communicates the richness of the original source of inspiration.
