Susannah is a painter particularly interested in landscape. Working predominantly with oil paint and most of the time directly from life, her work is fluid and fresh. Susannah will work en plein air in most weather (except driving rain!) and also in her studio. She lives in the West Country and loves to travel, particularly Scotland where she has also lived and to spend as much time by the sea in Cornwall as possible. Her current work depicts these coastal landscapes as well as the rolling hills closer to home. Susannah obtained an Upper Class degree in Printed Textiles from Glasgow School of Art in 1991. She has worked as a textile designer as well as developing children’s art projects before devoting herself more recently to painting. Her sensitivity to colour, shape and pattern has continued throughout these transitions.
